Staging and Audio-Visual Information

Auditorium Setup

  1. Position the first row of seats within three feet of the stage, if possible
  2. Set the lecturn back a few feet from the front of the stage so that Dr. Young can walk in front of it.
  3. Set a small draped table (4'x4') stage right for props
  4. Riser dimensions should be a minimum of 12 feet across and 6 feet deep with height appropriate to the size of the audience.

Recording Devices

Audio and/or Video taping are permitted under special conditions, such as archival use, with written permission of Dr. Young. If you would like to video tape Doris Young's presentation, complete the video release form.

Lighting

People tend to laugh and listen more in brightness. Dim the screen area, but leave full house lights on during the program. Doris Young moves around during her program and walks through the audience, when possible. If the room has ceiling spotlights, aim them for a general center-front wash.

Visuals and Sound

  1. Wireless lapel microphone
  2. Extension Cord
  3. Boom Box that plays both CD and tape into the auditorium sound system.

Doris Young will bring her own Macintosh G3 with her presentation graphics on it. Please provide a screen (see screen placement below) and a screen projection system. There are no Mac-specific adapters requied for the G3.

If you are using front screen projection, please place the screen at front left or right corner of room. If you are using rear projectsion, the screen placement is at your discretion.

Please call Doris Young personally (800-671-8005) for questions or advice concerning equipment or set-up. We want your program to be as successful as possible. Set-up is an important part of that success.
